Welland Boathouse

Welland, Ontario 

The Welland Community Boathouse Concept, which was designed to be constructed out of shipping containers, is a unique 360 square-metre facility. Located at the Lincoln Street Docks along the Welland Recreational Canal, the design utilized shipping containers of varying sizes. Included in the design of the canoe and kayak rental facility was a retail component, change rooms and a patio with shade sails. The project would evoke environmentally conscious ideas and further pioneer this construction method for the Niagara Region.
