St. Catharines, Ontario
Completed in 2017, this project consisted of additions and alterations to Oakridge Public School in St. Catharines. Oakridge consolidated the students from the closure of Glenridge Public School, resulting in the need for expansion. The project included a new kindergarten room addition and renovation to the existing kindergarten classroom. The two rooms are linked with a door and share a separate play yard and which was completed with toy storage bunkers. To complement the student increase, the office area and staff spaces have been expanded and redesigned to give the school more of a street presence and a noticeable entrance. This coupled with a new parking lot and kiss-n-ride completely changed the face of the school. Additional work included making the school entirely barrier free accessible through the use of an interior ramp and a new Otis Gen2 elevator, providing access to the stage and second floor.
