Oakville, Ontario
Completed in 2014, this 6,100 square foot, four bay EMS reporting station consists of a staff lounge, report writing office, a platoon chief office, shower and change rooms, locker rooms and a fitness room with a spate entrance for staff to use when not on duty. Features of the building include a dedicated entrance for oxygen and linen delivery plus secured rooms for medicine storage. Sustainable features include using masonry with high recycled content, interior secure bike storage racks, clerestory windows in the apparatus bay and quick acting horizontal sliding apparatus bay doors. These doors open quicker compared to traditional overhead doors which minimize heat and cool loss as well as response time.
