Grimsby, Ontario
RAAI was involved in a substantial upgrade to the 200,000 square foot Grimsby Secondary School, which included over two million dollars worth of architectural work along with complete mechanical and electrical upgrades. Our scope has included providing barrier-free accessibility to many of the levels by adding a new full service elevator, as well as six new barrier free washrooms to service all levels. The exterior was renovated with numerous window and door replacements along with a complete retrofit of the main entrance. The interior was renovated with new doors, lockers, ceilings and a new central stair. The fire separations of all corridors were also upgraded and all sections of the school were compartmentalized with new fire doors. The school was freshened up with a complete painting of all corridors and the gymnasium was also completed in 2002.
