Construction on Henley Rowing Centre Ramps Up
March 24, 2021
Construction on the new mass-timber ultra-efficient net-zero Henley Rowing Centre for the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games is ramping up. The new facility, designed by MacLennan Jaunkalns Miller Architects (MJMA) & Raimondo + Associates Architects Inc. (RAAI) is located at the Royal Canadian Henley Rowing Course in Port Dalhousie. The architectural team is happy to report that Aquicon Construction is progressing, as foundation work is well underway with screw piles extended to bedrock.
The Henley Rowing Centre will be fully accessible, with universal change rooms, fitness rooms, and a multipurpose training, event and administrative support space. The facility will be the site of the rowing competition for the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games and in 2024 host the World Rowing Championships.
